I am grateful that I have lived in other countries, so I have experienced living in societies that are not as violent. I am grateful that I can make a living outside the US, so I'm not stuck here forever. I'm grateful that I am free to move and know that I can live somewhere else, and not where I have a high chance of getting shot because in America, the right to bear arms is more important than the right to life, which are both amendments by the way... I am grateful I can spout off how much I dislike living here and how fearful I feel living in the USA. I'm grateful that I can move somewhere where it's actually looked down upon to kill or harm another person. Some societies actually disallow violent behavior. Not the US.
Master Bruce Lee says that in order to change, we need to control ourselves. For self-control we need self-knowledge. Self-knowledge is knowing our Nature. When we know our Nature, we can work with it, rather than against it. There cannot be self-control when you go against your nature.
I want to flow with the river, not struggle against it.
It's so lovely to just be sitting here and listening to the sound of raindrops.
I am grateful for my ability to change, for my strong will and determination, for my many talents. I have a few habits that I have changed over the course of this past month that have been beneficial to my health. I have also started a new practice of Golden Shield Qi Gong and am studying the philosophy of Taoism as it relates to many areas: martial arts (Bruce Lee), Chinese Astrology, and Feng Shui.
I am grateful for knowledge, learning, and my ability to be flexible in my thinking, behavior, and habits!
P.S. I used to be able to perform this standing kick, and hold it for a time, though not as long as Master Lee. I will again!

You can punch water, and it yields. Water gives and gives, conforms... And yet it covers our earth, it creates canyons in hard stone, it is stronger than all other elements in its power. I want to learn to find strength in yielding, in non-opposition, in non-struggling. I want to be like bamboo. I want to be like water.
I'm so grateful for music: I define periods of my life with specific songs; I have several theme songs; and music elevates, exacerbates, and enriches my moods!
I love discovering new music, especially global/international styles or songs by artists of which I'm already a fan, but hear something new--snap!
Last night, I was lucky enough to dance for almost 5 straight hours to the beats and sways of the incredible hip hop sounds of 7 different bands and it was f-f-f-f-f-fantasmorgasmaphoric!!! Thank you Sir Mix-A-Lot for being so prime. Thank you Naughty by Nature for preaching LOVE to us peeps during very divisive times!
I love my music; I am created, I am undone, and I am realized through music!
...is practicing gratitude every day for 365 days. Began on April 22, 2016, let's see how life changes over the course of this next year!
