I am grateful for a return to health!
A cough began a few days ago, which turned into a scratchy tickle in the back of my throat, which always signifies the onset of some flu-bug caught from another. The last time this happened, I was beset with flu, which led to bronchitis, which I suffered from for over one month's time!
Yesterday, I ate raw garlic several times, followed by honey. Last night I learned I can hold those hot, biting minced pieces near the back of my throat for about 30 seconds prior to jumping up and down and stamping my feet from the acidic heat. I also doused my immune system with an immune-boosting tonic.
Last night, I had trouble sleeping: the coughing began; the running of mucus in my throat and nose, and the stuffed-up nose. As I lie tossing, trying to determine the best position for sleep (which was on my back), I began visualizing healing and repeating a healing mantra in my head, whihc eventually led to me falling asleep. I determined to wake up feeling better and well.
Well, I did! I woke up with no congestion or coughing, relatively little throat pain; all after a good night's sleep!
In the past, I would get sick from some virus once every 5 years, now it seems to be I get it each year (being around kids??). I used to to "run through it". In other words, when I started feeling sick, I would increase my time running and at the gym; it was not taking me down! Now, I allow myself rest and recuperation. But from now on, I'm running through it and grateful I can. I will not get that sick again; sick for a month--no way!
I'm grateful to feel better this morning and be determined to be well, and for the awareness to know that my thoughts will affect my health as much as the garlic!
I am healthy and free of illness! I am healthy and free of illness! I am healthy and free of illness!
Soon, time for a run!
