Thus far I've read 17 of Sir Terry Pratchett's books included in his Discworld series! I'm on target for my 15,000 page goal this year, which is the approximate number of pages in the entire 41 book series.
24 more of the books to go!
Of course, enveloping myself in the wit and entertaining imaginings of Sir Terry hasn't prevented me from reading additional books; I still have academic studies as well as my "normal" reading of whatever serendipitous subject catches my mind's curious eye at the time; Korea, poetry, psychology, etc.
I should really start tallying all the book pages I complete, as I'm sure I've read at least 10,000 this year.
A wonderful book: another first- person narrative and perspective of what happened on Everest in 1996. My reading of this story comes at the perfect time: the current triumph of the first American woman to summit Everest without oxygen, as well as recent deaths on top of Everest.
I find the stories of mountain climbing fascinating; the courage, hubris, adventurers...although I love climbing and hiking and hope to trek across many countries one day, I don't (as of yet ha ha) have an interest in doing anything as crazy as a desire to summit 8000+ peaks. Too frickin cold!!!
Another 250 pages read, I think all the books that I have read --and will read in this lifetime--if, piled or stacked, will surpass the height of the peak of Everest!
... Loves to lie amongst the warm rays of sunshine and read, read, read, learn, learn, learn, and live, live, live, vicariously between the pages!
