That is "just because".
That is just becuase I like to form new words from other words, and make up my own!
That is just because what else is there to do at 5:30 am than geek out on words and take a vocabulary quiz because I'm a wordophile, bibliophile, book freak, word freak, ad. naus. Lewis Carole coined the term "portmanteau" in 1882 in his book Through The Looking Glass, although it originated from the "porter" who carried a Prince's "mantle" (coat), and also means a particular style of suitcase.
I like it! It sounds fantasticaliscious!
As a child, I poured over the dictionary, relishing each new word. As an adult, I thrill at the same, but have less time to squeeze dictionary-reading into my already overburdened reading schedule, which includes pleasure reading and work requirements.
Some of my favorite words are: sesquipedalian (of course!) , supercilious, tendentiousness, bromide...and many others with purely Latin roots (mendax=mendacious).
