On my run today, I thought how much would I miss running my familiar route along the sea with the backdrop of mountains. No matter how many times I have run the very same route, at one point in my run, rounding a curve, I am always in awe at the backdrop of mountains towering over the seascape. I think I will miss this aspect most of all: mountains and ocean combined for my enjoyment during biking and running. There is so much I did while I was here, and yet, so much I was unable to do. Sigh. I will definitely miss my kids. I loved having 90 children to teach, to laugh with, to encourage, to comfort; I truly enjoyed them. It was nice to go home at the end of the day and have no children though! Teaching is great: part-time Mothering. Love it!
I will miss Korean food for sure! So healthy, so much variety. The only drawback is that I wish I could have eaten
I will miss the good friends and acquaintances I made: my Korean friends and co-teachers Ye Yun and He Jeong, my boss, Unsuk, Jack, and Lauren and Dr. Choi (my acupuncturist). All were kind and friendly and I formed close friendships with them in my short time here. Thank you, my Korean friends for helping me in Korea, for feeding me delicious food and teaching me about Korea! Kelly, my climbing partner, I wish we had more time together to climb and just have fun. and my new friend Sa Rang from France, (Vive Le France!), I am happy for you! Yolande I enjoyed our visits together, and Lara, our trip to Busan was a blast! I hope we all keep in touch!
So I'm off to Busan this afternoon, will spend a day shopping in the rain, and then to Seoul via KTX (First Class). I am visualizing a relaxing evening on the beach Friday night; my last night in Korea. A quick run Saturday before my flight and then to the airport for my 11am flight. Flying backwards in time, I will arrive on the same day and one hour before I left, ha ha, in Dallas, Saturday, 10am. There I will meet My Love, Todd, and there our future together will begin, and a new chapter in the life of The Gallivanting Goddess! Next you hear from me I will be Gallivanting in Austin, Texas! Yee Haw Folks! See ya'll!
Love and Light to all in the Republic of Korea!
Farewell for now!
